cleaning house

So I didn't actually make any resolutions this year but I'm realizing I've felt a strong urge to get organized, so even though it's not a resolution, I have resolve to do it. I'm realizing that while I'm doing some "digital housekeeping" that there are SO many sessions I haven't blogged over the past year so I'm going to try to share some of them. I really love this picture, these three girls were so sweet and we were having lots of fun, they were chasing me all over the place, so cute.

Texarkana Special!

I'll be offering the Print Credit Special in Texarkana once a year and it's that time of year! If you book a session in February you will receive a $150 print credit with your session, which can be used on prints, specialty products, digital files, whatever your little heart desires! As always I only accept a limited number of sessions in Texarkana so book early for preferred time slots.

that.just.happened.

My niece Brooklyn's birthday extravaganza rocked my face off. My mom and dad and brother and sister in love(law) and nieces and Brooklyn's adorable friend all came to Dallas for the day for some awesome hibachi at Benihana's, some too cool ice skating at the Galleria, and some major game time at shennenagins. This girl knows how to choose a proper birthday party :) Good times were had by all. You might want to be jealous.... I'm just sayin...


I actually handed the camera over and got a picture with the birthday girl. The latter of the two is definitely my favorite :)

He must love me...

I've decided that perfect handsome sweet Parkes just loves me... he may not know it yet but he does because he was so good to me. He slept like an angel, let me put him in every prop I brought with me, and he peed on pretty much everyone but me. I'm pretty sure he and I are going to be great friends :) I photographed his beautiful mom here while he was still in her belly and I could just tell by that beautiful belly that he would be adorable and I was oh so right.

This is a photo that I took while in the redwood forest in northern California a few months ago. The photo really speaks to me in some way, when I look at it I feel my spirit lift a little, I feel like this photo represents hope for me.

Baby it's cold outside...

I know I have been a really pitiful blogger but life has been busy, I have lots and lots of pictures to share and I'll do my best to play catchup. This session was so fun, this beautiful girl is an interior designer running her own business and being fabulous doing it. I can definitely speak for her design prowess because her house is too cute for words, she has awesome taste. It was FREEZING the day we took these shots but she was such a champ and you would never know it by looking at the pictures, she was a natural at looking relaxed and beautiful even though her teeth were chattering. I'll share more photo's from other sessions asap!

Happy Thanksgiving!

I just wanted to wish everyone a very Happy Thanksgiving. I have so much to be thankful for and I feel truly blessed. We are all heading to watch the Cowboys play in the new stadium today so my Thanksgiving dinner will probably consist of a coke and a hot dog but that works for me! Have a blessed day everyone!

Josh and Jaclyn are married!

I've known these two since high school and I was just so excited to be a part of their big day. I always have moments when I am photographing a wedding where I feel really lucky, moments like waiting with the bride and bridesmaids before they walk out, I get to see her anxious and excited and I think to myself "all those people are out there waiting for her and how lucky that I get to be back here cheering her on beforehand."

I also had a moment like that before this wedding during the first glance, I am a HUGE fan of the first glance, not only do you get to take some amazing photographs that you probably wouldn't get otherwise, and not only does it help with the timeline of photographing the wedding, but most importantly I feel like it makes the moment of seeing each other for the first time even more intimate and special for the bride and groom.

So that's one of those moments, I'm standing there with the groom and the bride is waiting for me to give her the go sign to come through the door way and then "bam" she comes around the corner and he see's her for the first time and his face lights up and he gets to hug her and hold her and just ooo and ahhh over how beautiful she is, things that he definitely wouldn't be able to do at the alter without some pretty weird looks from the guests. It's in those moments that I feel there love is it's most palpable, when it's just the two of them and it's not for anyone else, the moment is just about them and they are just so happy in it. It gives me goosebumps just thinking about it.

Here he is seeing her for the first time, he's lit up like a Christmas tree. :)

They are just such a beautiful couple.

This wedding was full of really fun people that knew how to have a good time.
